At Brightlane Learning, we call our work “transformative.” While this applies to the students we serve, it applies to our volunteers, too. If you’re looking for a way to give back that will not only challenge you, but change you, then look no further. Dedicate one hour from your week during the school year to tutor students experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the Indianapolis area.

Founded in 2001, Brightlane Learning, formerly known as School on Wheels, is dedicated to providing tutoring and academic support services to school-aged children impacted by homelessness or housing instability. We bring services to schools, shelters, and transitional living facilities across Indianapolis serving children in grades K-12. Our programs help hundreds of students each year have the academic and emotional support they need to maintain and improve their grades, focus on critical skill building, achieve grade promotion, and build a strong academic foundation and illuminate their futures.
