Our mission	Improving lives through the power of the human-dog connection.

Opportunities	Therapy Dog Programs Volunteer with your dog at Paws & Think’s partner venues where you will interact with children and adults from all different backgrounds. We also have a need for volunteers without therapy dogs to help as escorts for our Paws to Heal program and as Reading Buddies for our Paws to Read programs. Monthly 21+ Individuals Indoor, Outdoor On-site, Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Youth-Canine Programs Mentor/Coach volunteers are needed to help youth in the program train shelter dogs on basic obedience using positive reinforcement methods. Provide evening care for dogs in our Pawsitive Correction Program. This includes walking, feeding, and playing with the dogs who stay overnight at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center during the week of the program. Help at the craft table at the program graduation. Volunteers put together keepsakes for the youth in the program and assist the youth with making kennel cards for their dogs to display at the shelter to help the dogs get adopted. Occasional, Monthly 21+ Individuals Physical, Event support, Indoor, Outdoor On-site, Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Therapy Dog Training & Evaluations Assistance For these opportunities, you would not bring your dog when volunteering. Assist with the training classes where dogs and their handlers learn the skills needed to become a registered therapy team with Paws & Think. About us	Paws & Think is a non-profit organization focusing on the at-risk community, both human and canine. Our vision is to instill pride and confidence in those we serve. We do this with two proven methods: one of training and providing therapy animals for both animal assisted activities and animal assisted therapies to youth, seniors and special needs individuals of all ages. The second method is our Youth–Canine Programs that facilitate classes for at-risk youth and teens, helping them to train shelter dogs with positive reinforcement behaviors. The young people learn responsibility, job readiness, anger management, parenting skills, leadership and positive life skills, while at the same time increasing the dog’s chances of adoption because of the basic obedience skills learned. Pride and confidence are found as a result of both aspects of our vision.
