Our mission	The mission of the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site is to share the life stories, arts and culture of an American President to increase public participation in the American system of self-government.

Opportunities	Education Program Assistant Your focus is on sharing history with elementary students, captivating them with good teaching skills and helping to keep them engaged throughout the tour. You also assist the Education Department with classroom preparation and programming. Occasional, Monthly 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Gardener You work alongside Master Gardeners in helping maintain the historic grounds of the Presidential Site. By mulching, weeding and maintaining historic plant species, you brighten the property and make it beautiful for guests. Occasional, Monthly 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Physical, Outdoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Special Events Assistant You join us in celebrating several occasions, including, the 4th of July, Wicket World of Croquet and the Presidential Egg Roll. These events help support the Presidential Site’s mission by expanding museum recognition, supporting our educational programs and encouraging community engagement. One-time, Occasional 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Event support, Indoor, Outdoor On-site Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Welcome Center Ambassador You make the first impression by greeting guests, handling admission and helping with gift shop purchases. You use your fantastic customer service skills to offer information and answer questions. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Enactor You perform as a historical character in interpretive programs about the Harrison family, and may be invited to participate in drama presentations throughout the year. Occasional, Monthly 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Event support, Indoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Tour Docent Trained well by volunteer corps, you greet and give house tours to guests, both for prearranged groups and walk-ins. You have a gift for communicating well and adapting your approach to diverse audiences. Weekly, Monthly 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Research Assistant You help research topics and artifacts for the museum staff; this involves research in the museum library and other libraries using microfilm and online. You transcribe letters to expand your research base, and may be invite to contribute writing for internal and external publications. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Office work, Indoor On-site Weekdays

About us	We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization, whose purpose is to maintain and preserve the Harrison home, collections and grounds as a museum and memorial to the only president of the United States elected from Indiana. Open to the public as an educational and historical service, we seek to promote patriotism and citizenship through appropriate educational activities and by artfully exhibiting the Victorian time period as Harrison and his family might have experienced it.
