About us | The Edna Martin Christian Center is named for a 43-year-old, African-American housewife who couldn’t ignore the plight of families in Martindale-Brightwood–one of the poorest neighborhoods in Indianapolis. Now, after 76 years, we still follow her example. We strengthen kids with daycare, preschool, after-school programs, summer camp, and tutoring. We help adults with job programs, remedial education, and a food pantry. And we take care of our elders with social activities, utility assistance, and meals. |
